OneDrive Known folders move/Sync

We want to use OneDrive as a backup project for users. So we want to

  1. Enable oneDrive for users (Just assigning the license and enabling the service)

  2. Make sure known folders get synced to OneDrive and get backed up (Documents, Desktop, Pictures etc)

  3. Make sure users do not unlink their PC from OneDrive

Is there anyway to ensure point 2 can be done automatically from back end (As of now we are asking users to enable OneDrive by logging in with their accounts) and
-also how do we check from back end how many users have their kwown folders synced to OneDrive?

@GoodResource,
Welcome to Q&A forum!

Enable oneDrive for users (Just assigning the license and enabling the service)

<< Please refer to Enable OneDrive for Business (online) or (on-premises).

Make sure known folders get synced to OneDrive and get backed up (Documents, Desktop, Pictures etc)

<< Per my research, I think you could configure silently move Windows known folders to OneDrive for users, and enable this policy to force users to keep their Documents, Pictures, and Desktop folders directed to OneDrive.

Make sure users do not unlink their PC from OneDrive

<< Per my research, there is no a policy to disable users from unlinking their PCs from OneDrive currently.
But I found another user has put forward the idea of "remove Unlink this PC" on this page, I think you could vote for it. Microsoft will continue to improve the OneDrive strategy based on user suggestions.
Thanks for your understanding!

Hi Thanks these are generic uRls which i have gone through as well. I was trying to find a solution where users don't need to manually configure, their known folders will automatically re-directed to OneDrive and will start syncing and get backup. The reason am asking for this, even after enabled OD license for users, we see users have not activated their OD and their local folders are still not backed up in OD or re-directed. I just want to find a desperate solution where all these could happen silently when user logs in. We have Windows 10 domain joined machine (Not HYbrid aad).

@GoodResource,
Thanks for your reply.

< As far as know, there is currently no policy that can achieve this.

And if you want to be able to achieve single sign-on, you may have to join AAD.
Azure Active Directory Seamless Single Sign-On.

Thanks for your understanding!
