Outlook 2016 – expanding e-mail addresses in earlier posts in thread

Outlook 2016 is unnecessarily expanding e-mail addresses in my threads. Note that in the latest post below (sent to myself and replied to myself as a simple example), the sender and the To entry are just shown as names but in the earlier post, the From and To entries have the angle-bracket-enclosed e-mail addresses included, which makes it harder to read. I know it seems trivial in this example case, but when there are many recipients in older posts, it becomes much harder to see who was sent to. It used to just show names throughout the thread. How can I get back to that simpler display?

So this is just a loss of functionality compared to earlier versions.

Hi @BoncekJohn-9525 ,

As I know, we could hide the previous email address in To field via this register value DisableEmailAddressesInReplyHeaders:

Location : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options
Type : DWORD
Value Name: DisableEmailAddressesInReplyHeaders
Value Data : 1

But It couldn't work for the previous email address in "From" field, if it's sufficient to meet your need, it's recommended to create and set the register value in your register to check. (Note: Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before making changes, back up the registry to restore it in case something goes wrong.)

That helps a little but it only affects a latest reply as I send it. Is there a way to do the same in all previous replies?

Hi @BoncekJohn-9525 ,

Sorry for delay.

As you know, it could only work for the newly created reply after changing the registry key but not for previous replies. Due to the previous replies are fixed, there may be no option that we could change them.
