Hi Raymond,
its completely possible to migrate the Hyper-V VMs to Azure using azure migrate tool. Refer the article for detailed pre-requestees and considerations to meet for migration.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/migrate/tutorial-migrate-hyper-v?tabs=UI

I didn't quite get the first questions. By default, azure VMs will have internet access if the required ports are allowed (either in NSG or Depends on firewall you use in Azure).

Please provide more information regarding this point. Where you trying to perform this ? on-prem or azure.

Hi,

Thanks for posting on our forum!

Based on your description, I would like to firstly check your production environment:
Do you mean that you want to create an embedded VM on your former created Azure WM (i.e. create a VM on an azure VM), afterwards, you would like to use azure migration to migrate the embedden VM to the azure VM (i.e. migrate the VM on the onprem azure VM to the azure VM)?

If so, for the first question, you can deploy the new Hyper-V Nested Virtualization feature that allows you to run a VM inside a VM - a Windows Server virtual machine can be deployed in Azure and run nested VMs of the Hyper-V format. For the second question, I am not sure how to use azure migration since this topic is beyond our forum's scope (it belongs to Azure forum), but I think you can just conduct nested Hyper-V migration like in a normal nested Hyper-V environment, for instance, live migration on Hyper-V Manager. Here are some articles that you can read:

Hi Raymon,

You need to create a NAT switch in Hyper-V to enable the networking and internet connection for the nested VM.

Refer the below article section, " Preparing a Hyper-V Virtual Network" for step by step information.

https://www.nakivo.com/blog/hyper-v-nested-virtualization-on-azure-complete-guide/

Also i would recommend to test this scenario with on-prem servers if possible, because running hyper-v in azure and creating nested VMs to get hands on is cumbersome process. you might hit some bottlenecks and troubleshooting.
