Can the 2 not running W10-Updates (KB5004237, KB 5004296 be a hindernis to update to windows 11?

Hi, I have also since weeks problems with the Update KB5004237 and later also with KB 5004296 with my Lenovo Laptop (CPU: 1.10 GHz, Mem: 4 GB 74% in use, Disk (C) still more than 20 GB free space).
I checked my PC-System is generally possible to update to Windows 11 (in Autumn).

MY worryings/Question is if i need this (above) updates to run to update to Windows 11 or is it only a minor problem which will not be a hindernis for the Udate-Process to Window 11?

By the way I tried evrything to update the 2 updates (run w-troubleshooter, give more space on c, remove my USB-Stick and deactivated my AVG-Antivir - but nothing helped!

Thank you in advance for any useful tip

Hello @WolfgangMilde-6312

These updates are not a pre-req for WIndows 11 upgrade. KB5004237 and KB5004296 are cumulative updates for Windows 10. Not installing these, or the most recent cumulative updates, is not recommended. A failure to install these updates may be due to CBS corruption or problems with communication to Windows Update servers.

The recommendation to troubleshoot the source and cause of problem is to start with the WindowsUpdate.log and CBS logs. Both these are in C:\Windows\Logs. To decode Windows Update .etl files to plain text open an admin PowerShell and run: "Get-WindowsUpdateLog"

Hi,
If your system meets the minimum system requirements of Windows 11, then this issue will not hinder your update.
Usually if we encounter problems when installing updates, we will also use the method of getting the upgrade, since Windows 10 to Windows 11 is version upgrade.

The fastest way to get the upgrade is through Media creation tool or ISO file.
This will save your files and apps while bringing you up to the latest version by the most stable method. It will also bring all of your Updates current and solve most problems since it reinstalls Windows.

If your existing Windows 10 PC is running the most current version of Windows 10 and meets the minimum hardware specifications it will be able to upgrade to Windows 11. The upgrade rollout plan is still being finalized, but for most devices already in use today, we expect it to be ready sometime in early 2022. Not all Windows 10 PCs that are eligible to upgrade to Windows 11 will be offered to upgrade at the same time. To see if your PC is eligible to upgrade, download and run the PC Health Check app. Once the upgrade rollout has started, you can check if it is ready for your device by going to Settings/Windows Updates.

Hope above information can help you.
