@PeterBox-4325 Thank you for your query!!!
Can you help me understand your scenario better? Is it an Azure VM you are talking about or some other VM.
Also when you are saying that you are getting credential issues assuming it is an Azure VM have you tried connecting with RDP which generally is the use case scenario rather than RDM as mentioned here.
Now if connecting over RDM can you follow below:
When using the "Connect" button in the Azure console, if it is a Virtual Machine, it will use its endpoint and if there are multiple, will prompt you to choose one to connect to. This should solve the port issue. For now it only uses RDP like before.
In the entry tree: Right click > Import > Import Sessions From > Microsoft Azure. It will prompt you for the subscription ID and the certificate thumbprint, or an existing azure console session. Then, you'll be able to choose default credentials you want to put in the imported sessions (you can leave those empty if you want). This also uses RDP sessions, and is only available for administrators.
Also if you can provide screenshot of the error that will be helpful too and do let me know if you have any NSG rules or firewall in place for the VM since that might cause issue as well.
Looking forward to your response.
Thanks
@PeterBox-4325 Any update on the issue?
Can you please confirm if my previous response helped?
Thanks
Sorry, I meant to say I was connecting via RDP. Actually, I got the credentials figured out. I was trying to use the default user ID but it didn't match what I had configured. I now manually change it and it works fine.
My new issue is that when I do get into the VM it keeps rebooting. I have tried changing things and creating different types of VM's and the problem seems to always happen.
I connect via RDP, get to the desktop and within a minute or so windows pop up and say "you are being logged out. Windows will reboot in 1 minute."
The only thing I can think of, and I don't have time to try it till after work, is that every time i configure a VM I add an Nvidia video driver through extentions. I wonder if that is causing an issue.
When I have time, I will send a copy of how I have the machine configured and a screenshot of the error.
Any help would be appreciated.
@PeterBox-4325 You got it right!!!
Depending on the VM family, the extension installs CUDA or GRID drivers. When you install NVIDIA drivers using this extension, you are accepting and agreeing to the terms of the NVIDIA End-User License Agreement. During the installation process, the VM may reboot to complete the driver setup and that might be the reason you are seeing the behavior.
You can refer to this as well for more info.
Hope it helps!!!
