FSLogix DFS namespace and replication.

Hello. I want to do HA at the profile level. I have read that DFSR is an outdated technology and cannot guarantee quality performance.

What are the recommended methods ? on-premise

Hi. Resilio has a reliable, low latency, replacement for DFSR that works well with DFS and Microsoft FSLogix profile sync. It's an alternative to FSLogix Cloud Cache. You would set FSLogix to use VHDlocations and point it to Resilio Connect. It works well on-premise, hybrid, and across any Azure region (native or hybrid).

As a DFRS replacement, the DFS namespace stays the same--but there's no more fussing with backlogs and db corruption. What we hear from customers is that it "just works" and that the decrease in stress and frustration with DFSR alone is worth the install.

There's a case study from one of our customers that shows how this works in a hybrid cloud with FSLogix and Citrix load balancing:

There are a lot of people who utilize Bvckup 2 for the replication piece with great success. I've used it myself, but only for an initial profile copy to new storage, but it worked brilliantly, and is crazy cheap.
