Outlook 2016 Keeps Logging Out

Hi,

We have set up a Virtual Machine (Server 2016) which runs Outlook 2016 via an automated process.

Outlook has been set to cache emails for 1 month. Intermittently Outlook keeps requesting the credentials and can take a long time to connect to the server upon opening. I have noticed that this issue seems to occur when there is an automatic MS Office ADAL update in credentials manager.

We have reset the profile multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook and the whole O365 suite. We have also applied a registry change for ADAL in Outlook.

The issue seems to go away for a few weeks but then reappears, which causes a lot of issues in our automation.

Any ideas of what we can do to permanently fix this issue please?

In order to further confirm your issue, please provide us with more information below:

  1. What's the account that you are working with(exchange on premises or Microsoft 365 account)?

  2. I noticed that you mentioned Outlook 2016 and O365 suite above, what's the specific version of your OS and Outlook client? For Outlook version, we could check it via File>Office account>About Outlook.

  3. Could you please provide us the screenshot of your crendential prompt window(Notice: Please hide your personal information in the screenshot for security.)

             OS Build: 14393.4467
             Outlook version = 16.0.14026.20270 (64-bit)

Thanks for your update. For your issues, I have continued to research a lot and found a relevant document that mentioned some similar connection issues in Office 2016 with Windows 10, sorry for I mainly focus on general issues on Outlook desktop client and know little about windows server, it's recommended to refer to it to check if it could also be helpful to you.
