SharePoint 2019 'Help' in Classic

While in the Classic Experience in SharePoint 2019, when trying to get to the 'Help' option (click on "?" and then "help"), a pop up window comes up with "Sorry, you don't have access." instead of a help page.

In the Modern Experience in SharePoint 2019, there is no issue, it goes to the help page.

Developers are still using the Classic Experience for customization and so users cannot access the help page.

Hi @ParkDave-7012 ,

I couldn't reproduce this issue on my end. Help ("?") menu works normally on my end under both modern and classic experience. The build number of my SharePoint 2019 farm is 16.0.10371.20043 with February 2021 CU installed.

To narrow down this issue, I have something to check with you.

  • What's the scope of such issue? only one site, one site collection, all site collections or anything else? Have a test in other sites/site collections.

  • Could you find any clues realted to this error in your ULS logs? Reference: How to Use ULS Log Viewer to Analyze SharePoint Errors?

@AllenXu-MSFT,

Thanks for the replies. Sorry it took a bit of time to respond.

This does occur across all SharePoint site collections on the farm. But we also have a test environment, which works just fine. We checked our SharePoint 2010 and 2013 environments and settings as a comparison, they all work as well.

We did look at the ULS logs during our investigation, but the only thing that shows up is an error with Javascript.

Thank you,
Dave
