Azure Front Door Caching Experiment

Hi,

I have a question with regards to caching experiment on azure front door, busy with an experiment. Below are more details:

-Experiment runs on an environment for a few days (to allow the cache to "warm up")

-Environment can be pre-existing app or new app (preferably with Okta login but not a must)
—NGINX test app
—Or Real App
—Test Compression

-Increased Load on experiment (Greater than ? concurrent tests)
—What tool shall we use to create load? (Jmeter / Codecept) - K6?

-Multiple Geographies used.

-Benchmarking from Azure App Insights to verify test setup.

Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello @jvdwesthuizen ,

Apologies for the delay in response.

Azure DevOps Load Testing with Jmeter was a nice feature to perform Cloud-based load testing (CLT) but unfortunately it has been deprecated on April 29, 2021.
Refer : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/azure/devops/test/load-test/overview?view=azure-devops

However, you can prefer to continue using a self-service model for load test and cloud-load testing as there are a number of free and commercial tools available. For example, Apache JMeter is a free, popular open-source tool with a strong community backing.
Refer : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/azure/devops/test/load-test/overview?view=azure-devops#alternatives

Hi @GitaraniSharmaMSFT-4262

Thanks for the reply and details, really appreciate it.

I do have 1 question though, what is the deal with "codecept" app services (relates to web apps)? I came across this in previous tests been done on Azure.

I can see nginx running on the resource and it ends with .azurewebsites.net.

Please let me know.

Thanks.

Hello @jvdwesthuizen ,

I couldn't find anything regarding Codecept app service in our official and internal docs. Hence, I have reached out to the App service team to get some insights. Will reply as soon as I hear from them. It would be helpful if you could provide a screenshot of that app service, if available.

Thanks,
Gita
