Assuming you are using feature updates, then clients begin downloading content at the available time of the required deployment (plus a random time up to one hour). Thus, simply ensure that your available time reflects the time when you want the content to start pre-downloading and that it is far enough ahead of the required deadline time that the clients can download the content.
Agree with Jason, updates will download ahead of time after the available time when the deadline is set.
If you are not sure, we can select several machines to check the UpdatesDeployment.log before the update deadline. Usually we can see a sentence similar to the following screenshot:
And it also will be noted in UpdatesHandler.log:
For more information about tracking the deployment, we could refer to the "Deployment evaluation and update installation on clients" part in this article:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/troubleshoot/mem/configmgr/track-software-update-deployment-process#deployment-evaluation-and-update-installation-on-clients
So can i send that Operating System Upgrade package in advance. because it sends the extracted ISO that is amounting to approx 4GB
i wanna send this in advance to the end clients. is this possible?
Thanks
That's a different process but yes, this is also possible. See https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/osd/deploy-use/configure-precache-content
