Configuration Manager 2010 Install Behavior Tab is missing

Hello,

I have been running Configuration Manager 2010 for a few months. Everything was working fine but as of a few days ago the Install Behaviour tab has disappeared from all my applications. This has also caused the clients to stop closing any conflicting processes. I cant find anywhere on how to re-enable this feature for 2010

Is anyone able to assist?

Just to confirm the deployments in questions are all set to show full notifications to the clients in software center.

Applications have never had a tab/page for "Install Behavior". The "Install Behavior" functionality is configured on the properties of Deployment Types.

There is no way to disable or enable this functionality.

Hi Jason,

Sorry I should have mentioned this was in the deployment type properties.

See attached image for one example

What version is the console running?

Have you tried with another user and/or froma different system with the console installed?

Hello,

See attached image for details. This is run from the server itself. I am the only administrator so I would need to set up some test users to see if it’s any different. Whole thing is off as clients are ignoring any previously setup install behaviour also , for example Adobe was set to close the app. Now it just complains it’s open.121312-101a1516-43d3-4535-88ad-a3a1b2d1ae47.jpeg

You can also try uninstalling the console and reinstalling it.

Hello,

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Installing on another computer using another account to run it. Unfortunately the result is the same.

Thanks

Time to open a support ticket then. My guess is that something in the site control file has been inadvertently changed or become corrupted. We don't provide public docs on this set of configurations though so it's best to open a support case). Upgrading to 2103 (or 2107) may resolve it as well though and may be best first step here.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the reply. I did a site reset but no joy. I noticed a few other features I was missing such as edge management so decided to look at a backup of the database to see if anything was different from the production database. It seems features are controlled via the Feature_EC table. Comparing my backup I had 290 features not enabled compared with a few weeks ago. I re-enabled them and all the features have returned and now client installs are behaving. Thats been about a day and nothing has reverted back.

Hopefully that's it all sorted for the time being.

Thanks for all your help.
