Some keys stop working

Occasionally, the keyboard on my laptop seems to stop responding. However, it only seems to be alpha numeric keys, so I can't type the "L" key, but windows L works. The problem seems to be across all apps. Restarting resolves the issue, and it can be ok for a few hours or a few days.

I also had an issue once writing an amazon review. I could type into the title box, but not the description. Restarting the browser (edge) didnt work, but a reboot did. It seems similar to the main keyboard problem.

I've connected a usb keyboard and this has exactly the same problem at the same time.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Try perform Clean Boot and see if the problem persist?

If problem have been solved, enable services one by one.
Try run Windows Update and install all updates.

Hi Reza,

Thanks for your suggestion. I probably can't try that as it would leave most apps unusable, and it can take several days for the problem to occur.

I've narrowed the problem down further. When it occurs, I can resolve it if I open a web page which requires a login, the user id/password fields do allow me to type and then the keyboard works again. I'm wondering whether it maybe the bitwarden password managers auto fill feature? However, I have this on 3 machines and only 1 has the problem (2 patched to the same level on win10, 1 on win11) Restarting the browser does not resolve the issue.

In this case, you may still open the msconfig but only disable services which are not essentials and leave others open.
I advise you to report this issue using the Feedback Hub app so the Windows team would be able to investigate it.

I further suspect this is a bitwardon issue, others have the same issue.
