Please do help and let me know if someone have any solution for this. I know Windows 11 is still in development stage but I need to fix it as I cannot revert back to previous version (Windows 10) as it has been more than 10 days that I have upgraded to Windows 11.

Cheers,
Sri

Hi @Sri-1514,

Please note that Windows 11 is not yet officially released, and SCOM does not yet have official support for Windows 11.
You would be best to restore from a backup back to your Windows 10, or simply reinstall back to Windows 10.

Before trying out things, make sure to check the SCOM system requirements over here:

System requirements for System Center Operations Manager
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/system-center/scom/system-requirements?view=sc-om-2019

If the reply was helpful please don't forget to upvote and/or accept as answer, thank you!

Best regards,
Leon

Hi Guys,

Thank you for your responses.

I know Window 11 still in development stage but I opened this ticket if someone can help me to troubleshoot this issue.

Actually, my friend also tried to install this OMConsole in Windows 10 he has the same issue like this one.

And, I have one more desktop where I used to use this OMConsole in Windows 10 and later I have upgraded to Windows 11. In this desktop OMConsole is working perfectly. For now I am RDP'ng this to access the console.

So, I thought someone can help me by looking at event logs to actually install it on Win 11.

Anyway, I appreciate for you inputs.

Cheers,
Sri

From the logs I can see that this is a SCOM 2012 R2 Operations Console (version 7.1.10226.0), this is a very old version running on such a new Windows operating system (Windows 11), there could be many components that may be causing issues here, so I'm afraid you will most likely have to troubleshoot on your own.

It could be a .NET Framework issue.

@Sri-1514, For Operations manager 2012 Console, the supported Operating System are Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. Windows 11 is not in the supported list. Here is an official article list the detailed information. We can read it as a reference:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/system-center/system-center-2012-R2/jj656649(v=sc.12)

In addition, just as Leon said, Windows 11 is not yet officially released. For the latest SCOM 2019. It is supported on windows 10 client not Windows 11. We can wait to see if the future SCOM version can support installing operations console on Windows 11 in the future days. Currently, we suggest to choose another client with the supported operating system to install our operations console.

Hope it can help.

@Sri-1514, Thanks for the reply. From your description, I know you understand this is a not support scenario but want to try to install on this client. Here are some thoughts to share:
For the event id 1026, it shows file not found. We can check if the following .Net Framework are all installed.
121846-image.png
For event id 1000, it shows application crash with code. But in my experience, the event log will not be enough to understand the problem. In most case, a dump will be necessary to extend further the data. If you are familiar with dump, maybe we can try to see more information:

We understand you want to deploy it on win11. However, we still suggest to choose a supported operating system to install the console to avoid any further issue.

Thanks for the understanding.

Hi @Reza-Ameri,

Thanks for the input, I have ran .Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool and even this couldn't help and I have reported this to Microsoft with all the dumpfiles.

Appreciate your response.

Sri
