This has become a headache & I am tired of trying to find a Solution Or a workaround for this.
My machine has Wired Internet Connection & the connection is hale and hearty as in I am able to receive mails, browse websites and other internet based stuff. However, the only hitch is every application that needs to connect to the Internet to download it’s respective updates is not working because the respective application is tricked by Windows -courtesy “You are not connected to any networks” status - into believing that there is no active internet working in the machine. Windows is not able to download the updates from it’s own servers.
Following is the list apparent fixes that have been tried and tested.
1. The Network card has been RESET a zillion number of times.
2. The Latest Network Drivers have been installed and reinstalled many times.
3. The Network Cables have been changed too.
4. A few online forums opine that it could be a Windows update that is playing the spoil sport but they do not mention the relevant update. How am I to figure out which update is causing this “Never Ending Irritant”.
5. The specific Windows Registry keys have been checked and no errors were detected in them.
Please, help me on this. Trust me this has become quite an irritant. The only option I am left with is to Reinstall Windows OR disable the on board Network Card and plug in a PCI/PCIe network card. I wish to do that after exhausting all available options. Just in case I have missed out on something.
