I deactivated my subscription but I am still getting billed?

I #deactivated my subscription last month and was therefore surprised to get an invoice. I tried to delete the subscription but message told me I had to delete all related resources before I could do that. I managed to delete nearly all except the vault which I cannot delete because my subscription has been disabled - and I cannot renable. So Microsoft are taking my money for a subscription I no longer can use nor delete - so am I to be billed indefintely. I tried to get support on this issue but, guess what - my subscription is disabled. Catch-22. This is why we left Azure and went to AWS - everyhting is much more transparent and easier to manage.

I hold you little hope of gettign a response ot this request

@DerekAustin-7350 - Sorry for the inconvenience this must have caused!

Since vault is not deleted, you are being billed for it. You can re-activate the subscription and then delete the vault.

To re-activate your subscription follow the instructions from this link - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/manage/subscription-disabled

If it doesn't help, kindly raise a support request using this link - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/getsupport?wf=0&tenant=ClassicCommercial&oaspworkflow=start_1.0.0.0&locale=en-us&supportregion=en-us&pesid=15470&ccsid=636233463407635340 the support profession from Azure subscription management team will assist you in enabling the subscription.

To delete vault, here are the steps: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/backup/backup-azure-delete-vault
