No Video from other participants on Teams V1.4.0.0.13653 (64-Bit) Linux

Hi,
if I start a video-call audio works fine in both directions but with video my cam works, but I can't see the other participants. I only see the icon/black screen.

I use MS teams Version 1.4.0.0.13653 (64-Bit) on Linux Mint 19.3

Everything works fine for months, but the error occurs for 7 days. Profile was resettet, but that not solves the problem.

Thanks for help!

Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

I am having a similar issue on the very same version in Fedora 34.

Besides not seeing any participant's video, I cannot see my own either. The small video box stays black. Others do see my and each other's video.

When I open Settings > Devices, my webcam LED flashes shortly once, and the preview stays black as well.

If I open Teams in Chrome, all works, so I guess we can rule out that policies cause this issue?

@MichaelJ-8328,

Could other participants see your video?

Above all, confirm with your IT admin if he edits Mode for IP video of Meeting policies in Microsoft Teams admin center as below. This setting controls whether video can be turned on in meetings and group calls. For more information, please refer to the Mode for IP video section in this link.

If this option is set to Outgoing and incoming video enabled, your IT admin could check the call quality in Microsoft Teams admin center > Users > Choose the target user > Meetings & calls > Choose the meeting with problem and view the session details. For more details about how to troubleshoot user call quality problem, please read this article.

Meanwhile, Linux Mint 19.3 is not officially supported distributions now. To avoid some uncertain problems, we recommend you use the supported Linux distributions: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, 20.04 LTS, Fedora 30 Workstation, RHEL 8 Workstation, CentOS 8.

@MichaelJ-8328,
Do you check the setting in Microsoft Teams admin center? And how is going now?
Please feel free to drop us any notes.
Have a nice day!

Hi Sharon. Thanks for the answer. I cannot speak for Michael, but in my case video works if I open the Teams web app in Chrome. So I guess policy issues can be ruled out. Also, all other participants can see their videos and mine as well.

Your word makes sense.
Does this problem exist all the time? Or what changes do you do before happen?
It is suggested to clear your client cache and have a try.

For me it got solved by deleting the application data folder in /home. For the flatpak version, that is ~/.var/app/com.microsoft.Teams/config/Microsoft/Microsoft Teams

It might have been enough to clear the caches (there are several Cache folders)
