Linked Service with ADF for SAP BW MDX to Azure SQL

Hi,
We are trying to build a connection in my Windows Integration Runtime Machine to the SAP BW using SAP Netweaver RFC SDK.
Are there any steps to be taken care of while doing the same? Or any other connectors to be installed?

Also, are there any documentations available for establishing and extracting data from SAB BI/BW MDX Queries/Cubes to Azure SQL?

Hi @akshayarukandy-9620,

Thanks for using Microsoft Q&A !!
You can use SAP BW connector in ADF for Copy and Lookup activities. This connector supports:
- SAP Business Warehouse version 7.x
- Copying data from InfoCubes and QueryCubes using MDX
- Authentication mechanism - BASIC (Username/Password)

Also, this connector is supported through SHIR and you need to install SAP NetWeaver Library which you can either get it from :
- Your SAP Admin or
- Download it from SAP Software Download Center.
- Included in the SAP Client Tools installation.

You can refer to the Copy data from SAP Business Warehouse using Azure Data Factory documentation for more details. Additionally, you can refer to SAP Integration Whitepaper to get details on SAP connector.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks
Saurabh

Hi,
Thanks for your prompt help!
Do we have any documentation on installing the SAP NetWeaver Library on Windows SHIR machine, mentioning the entire steps to be followed for doing the same with SAP BW? As one does in the case of building an ODBC connection for HANA DB purposes.

Thanks
Akshay
