Cannot change skype for business 2015 reports service password

Hello,
I need to change the account or the password for the SfB 2015 reports service account.

I thought I could do this as described e.g. here:
https://itgala.xyz/cannot-impersonate-user-for-data-source-cdrdb-rserrorimpersonatinguser/

But when I go to my reports-URL I get only file-listings. I am missing the menu on top to edit permissions or create new sources.

The reporting itself is working fine for years but when I change the domain admin password I get
"Cannot impersonate user for data source ‘CDRDB’. (rsErrorImpersonatingUser) error".

Where else could I set that password or better: change it to a real service account in AD?

thanx.

Hi @ChristianReichhoff-8812

Welcome to our Q&A forum!

Could you provide the screenshot of your menu on Skype for Business report?

Based on my research, it seems you need to change the service account in AD firstly, so could you check if you have this service account in Active Directory.

Hi,
screenshot above.

Please note the missing menu on top of the screen.
By clicking on "Reports Home Page" I am instantly forwarded to Skype Reports Homepage or, if I changed the AD Admin password, get that error:"An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Cannot impersonate user for data source ‘CDRDB’. (rsErrorImpersonatingUser)
Log on failed. Ensure the user name and password are correct. (rsLogonFailed)"

If i change back the admin password I can view the reports as usual.

So I do not need to change anything in AD, I exactly ran into this problem described here:

https://itgala.xyz/cannot-impersonate-user-for-data-source-cdrdb-rserrorimpersonatinguser/

But cannot use the solution because I am missing the mentioned menu.

@ChristianReichhoff-8812

Thanks for your update. I will check this document steps and test in our environment. If there is any update, I will inform you in time.

Here is our Monitor service homepage in our environment:

And it seems the homepage is not the same as the blog talking about.

Is there any update on this?

It is a bit weird to always change back domain admin passwd to an old one which is known as "broken" just to troubleshoot SfB cases (and you know: there are always a lot of)

Thnx - Chris

Hi @ChristianReichhoff-8812

Sorry for the delay response!

I just find we did not install the SQL Server Reporting Services in our environment so we cannot access the link. I will install it and if there is any news, I will inform you in time.

@ChristianReichhoff-8812

Here is our report service page and it is the same as yours

And when we follow this blog's steps to click the reports_content -> CDRDB, it will show like this:

Yes, the same to me.

The question remains:

HOW can I change the user-password used by the SfB-Reportsviewer?

(The blog I mentioned gives ONE solution, which solution is the Microsoft default if the 3rd party hint is not working?)

Hi @ChristianReichhoff-8812

At present, we did not find any related official document talking about how to change the Sfb-Reportviewer password.

Maybe you could try to change the credential password from here.

Thank you for your reply,

But the account you mention is the service-account and not the account used by the webservice to request and build the reports.

In my environment the service you are ponting to is used by an account named "NT Service\ReportServer$Monitor" - this is not the domain admin account which is the initial problem.

So there is no official way to change this account or its password? I cannot believe...
