Hello there,
Can activities and other details be restored from published or live mode of Data Factory?

Hello @cmrbkr and welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

When you begin integrating a repository with a Data Factory, you are given the option to import the existing contents of the published/live mode into the repository.

This is especially useful, if somehow the repository and the published version become wildly desyncronized. Removing the integration, then adding it back gives the opportunity to get a fresh copy of the published / live mode into the repository.
