Lots of #BUSY! errors

I have an Add-in that I've developed for Excel online and Excel 2016 (e.g. a JavaScript add-in). It's worked fine up until last week. A lot of users have been complaining that they see #BUSY! when they try to use my custom formula. Sometimes, if they uninstall and reinstall the Add-in and close/reopen Excel it will work. In the online version of Excel I get a prompt everytime I open my sheet to click a button to "Trust this add-in". I haven't made any changes to the add-in for months and no reason on our end for this to occur. Was there an update on Excel's end that needs to be rolled back?

According to your description, this issue is related to third-party Add-ins that is not supported in Q&A currently.

To the contrary: this is clearly an issue with an Excel update since we haven't made any updates for quite some time. The fact that I have to manually click a button to trust the Add-in everytime I use it at office.com and that you get different behavior on desktop makes it clear it is a problem with Excel and not the add-in.

I should add that on the desktop version the issue is fixed if the users uninstalls the add-in, installs it again and restarts excel. So, the problem is not with the add-in itself.

Thanks for your reply, and I apologize for the late reply.
Are you using 64-bit or 32-bit Office?

Based on your description, uninstalling and reinstalling the Add-ins seems to be a workaround.
I did not find any updates about this error message currently. Thanks for your understanding.

Since this issue involves multiple users, it is not ruled out that it is an update of Excel.
I would suggest you first update Office to the latest version on the 2 test machines to check it out.

Now we have users reporting "This add-in is no longer supported on this application". They are using Excel version 2019.
