Converting Pay as I go Instances to Reserved ones

I have 3 pay as I go Instances that were set up as a PoC. These 3 instances had a degree of fine tuning and software installing to get right, but the project was a success.

So now I have funding for a year, I would like to convert my instances (2 web and one db) to reserved ones and benefit from the discount. However I cannot see an easy way of doing this. I was hoping for a simple button, but it seems its not that straightforwards. Can someone point me to a guide on how to do this?

I don't want any downtime if possible, and I would prefer to reserve the vps I already have configured than start again with new machines and re-set them up.

Thanks

Hi @MattRiches-8543 ,

first you have to buy an Azure Reservation:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/reservations/prepare-buy-reservation?toc=/azure/cost-management-billing/reservations/toc.json

For instance for an Azure Virtual Machine:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/prepay-reserved-vm-instances?toc=/azure/cost-management-billing/reservations/toc.json

If the Azure Reservation is bought and active the Azure Reserved instance is applied to the VM Resource that fits the Reserved Instance automatically without any downtime.

Sorry, just got back in front of a PC. So I just buy them and they automatically associate without any hassle? Thats good to know, I will give it a go shortly.
