Update-DistributionGroupMember error

Hi All

I am using exchange 2016 hybrid environment, i have an onprem DL lets say OnpremDL01, i want to add cloud DL as a member of onprem DL. when i try to add the cloud DL to onprem DL in office 365 EAC i am getting the below error.

The operation on Identity "OnpremDL01" failed because it's out of the current user's write scope. The action 'Update-DistributionGroupMember', 'BypassSecurityGroupManagerCheck,Identity,Members', can't be performed on the object 'OnpremDL01' because the object is being synchronized from your on-premises organization. This action should be performed on the object in your on-premises organization.

You will need to add the new member on-prem and let it sync to Azure.

Hi @RisingFlight-7863 ,

Agree with Andy, please try adding it with the on-prem EAC or EMS.

Best regards,
Lou
