Migrating to the 'New Outlook' Emails in the 'On my Computer' folder on Mac are not Supported

Good day.

I've been using Outlook for Mac for the past 9 years.

I've noticed recently, that there is an option to migrate the 'New Outlook' via a toggle in the top left corner of the app window.

Initially when I tried the toggle it said that IMAP accounts were not supported.

It looks like the latest version does support IMAP email accounts. However, I've run into another problem.

I have been 'archiving' my emails to the 'On My Computer' folder for years, to save increasing my disk storage with my email service, which has worked very well until now.

I'd like to migrate to the new version of Outlook, unfortunately it appears that emails saved to the 'On My Computer' folder in outlook for Mac are not eligible to be migrated to the new version. Is that correct?

Why has Microsoft abandoned the feature that they implemented for Mac users - is there an alternative?

Any suggestions on how to overcome the issue.

Hi @StephenShiller-2871,

Welcome to our forum!

As I know, the function of Local folder is not supported in New Outlook for Mac now, for more information, please refer to the section on Features not yet available in the new Outlook for Mac of this document : The new Outlook for Mac. And it would prompt when we switch to new Outlook for Mac:

Also, I couldn't find other alternative to meet similar feature there. In this case, it's recommended to submit a feedback in your new Outlook for MAC like below, your time and effort would be highly appreciated and would benefit Microsoft improve the product in the future.

If you do need this feature , for your current normal use, it's recommended to working with original version of Outlook for Mac temporarily.
