Hyper-V Merge fails with CRC error when manual merge

Windows 2016 server - running hyper-v.. Guest os had only one avhd file associated to a parent drive. I have run chkdsk on the guest os and sfc. 1st chkdsk repaired/replaced bad sectors. This happened during a drive failure in a Raid 5 config. Drive replaced and rebuilt raid . the avhd is about 80 the size of the parent. I have gone to edit disk , select the .avhd merge to parent , runs a bit then pops up with CRC error, and click ok and finish and it continues to pop up. in a cycle .. Is there a way for it to continue on its own via command line? Users have not experience any data loss. But im unable to get a backup now going forward. As the backs-up are doing block reads and error in the same place. but chkdsk is not finding or correcting it at this point. How can this be corrected?
