Set Virtual Machine from Pay as you go to Reserved instance

I have one virtual machine running in Azure under Pay as you go subscription. Now, I want to set it as reserved instance. How can I convert Virtual machine running under Pay as you go to Reserved instance?

Is it possible to scale virtual machine under Reserved instance?

There is a very specific question being asked here:

The machine already exists. This could have taken hours to set up, and could have data on the virtual hard drive that is valuable.
We do NOT want to discard an existing VM and create a new VM from scratch.

How can we take an EXISTING virtual machine and change the payment method, without creating a new one?

TThis has not yet been answered satisfactorily.

Hi @hardikranpura-9066

Yes you can buy Reserved Instance with Pay as you go but you need to be owner on the Subscription. This is confirmed on the page below along with the instructions:
Buy a Reserved VM Instance

Once you have purchased your RI and if you need to proceed with some changes, you will have two options: Cancel or exchange.
Details are documented on Cancel, exchange, and refund policies

Regarding the Scaling, are you referring to Scaling up (adding more power to the same VM instance) or Scaling out (adding more VM instances). Also are you referring to auto scaling like doing it multiple times a day or a week or manual scaling for example, increase the size of the VM after 6 months?

Now the Bonus link :-) At the very bottom of this page, you will find a very good FAQ on Reserved instance that I highly recommend you to go trough
