Hide Move To/Copy To buttons -Modern Experience

I would like to know if it is possible to hide the copy to/move to buttons from the "Edit" permission level in the show actions menu and the ribbon menu SharePoint Online - Communication site. ![124936-ol00s.png][1] If it is possible could you please provide an example of how it can be done? Any help will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance. [1]: /answers/storage/attachments/124936-ol00s.png

Hello anonymous user ,

Welcome to Q&A Forum!

According to my reaserch, I cannot hide/remove the Move to\Copy to button in modern SharePoint list.

However, if I directly grant the user "View Only" permission, then when the user accesses the Document Library, the user will not be able to see the Move to/Copy to button.

Hello @EchoDu-MSFT ,

Thank you for your reply.

The "View Only" permission will not allow the user to upload any file to the library and the requirement is to allow the user to upload any document without using Move to/Copy to features.

Is it possible to check for the current user group role permission level and if it is "Edit" we hide those buttons maybe by injecting CSS?

If so, could you please provide an example of how to achieve the above?

Looking forward to your response.

Thank you in advance.

Hi anonymous user ,

Thanks for your reply.

According to my research, there is no OOTB way to achieve your needs in SharePoint.

You want to hide the button by injecting CSS according to current user group role permission level. This question needs a professional developer to answer for you.

We suggest that you can create a new thread with the tag "sharepoint-dev".

Thanks,
Echo Du
