M1 Mac USB mouse lags on Remote Desktop but touchpad work OK

Hello,

I use Microsoft Remote Desktop from AppStore on my M1 MacBook Air to connect my organization's remote Windows 10 PC. I realized that my two input devices, touchpad and USB mouse, behave differently on the remote computer.

There is significant lag with the clicks when I use my USB mouse. I have tried the beta and the issue persists. There is no ghosting with the cursor but each click or mouse hovering registered after considerable lag.

What can I do?

Thank you.

Hi @TopcuOnurKaan-6786

You might want to try the work around suggested in this article https://borncity.com/win/2019/10/30/windows-10-v1903-mouse-stutter-with-rdp-sessions/, see if this helped.

Thank you for your response but that did not fix my problem.

Hello, did you solve your problem?
I have exactly the same problem but on my old macbook air connection to remote desktop windows 10.
My touchpad works very well but mouse is lagging so much it's literally impossible to work. My it support tells me that this is my connection problem, but i don't believe it's true, otherwise why my touchpad works well, does it have it's personal fast internet connection? XDXD

Hello,

I solved this problem by reducing the polling rate of my mouse.

Previously it was set to 1000 Hz which lagged so much I could not work on my remote computer. My mouse comes with the drivers that I can adjust the polling rate down to 200 Hz. I did that and everything works great now.

Hope this helps.
