Forward meeting invite as iCalendar - unable to track acceptance status

I created an teams meeting in Outlook 2010. and then i click foward as iCalendar so an ics file has added into an attachment in a new email. In the message, I encourage people to open the attachment and accept the meeting.

The reciepients has clicked "accept" on the attached ics meeting.
However, as the meeting organizer/creator, I don't get to see what participants have accepted the meeting. I cannot view anyone who accepted the meeting.

I need to see the names or emails of people who accepted the meeting to add it to their Outlook calendar.

Please help.

Hi @qiuyipan-5064 ,

Welcome to our forum!

Please kindly understand that Outlook 2010 is currently out of support, so we can't test in Outlook 2010. According to your description, I created a teams meeting in my outlook 365 and forwarded it as an ics attachment to other user.
When other users click accept, there is no option to send a response, and I can't check the status of meeting participation, which is consistent with your result. It seems that this is by design.

Based on my experience, when you create a Teams meeting in outlook and send it directly instead of sending it as an ics file to the meeting participants, the recipients can accept and respond back, so that we can view the meeting participation in the meeting tracking. It's suggested that you could try to send a Teams meeting directly to the meeting participants.

Hi Christy,
Sorry, i m in Outlook2016.

And yes, exactly as you described that the reciepients can only click accept/tentative/reject, there is no option to send response. And the organizer can not see the response at all.
But, in the meeting request which i attached, i have selected/ticked request response. And now when the reciepients accept the meeting, why cant they give response?

Isnt it a bug then? because the attached ics meeting request clearly ticked/selected Response option --> request response.

Best regards,
Veronica

Hi @qiuyipan-5064 ,

Thanks for your relpy!

Through my research and searching, I have not found the relevant official documents to explain or introduce whether the tracking function is supported after the meeting is forwarded as icalendar file. But based on my test on different version of Outlook client, the result is the same that the organizer cannot track the participation information after the participants accept the meeting through the .ics file.

Looks that after the meeting is forwarded as .ics files, only the meeting itself is retained, but the tracking function no longer exists. If you really need this feature or want to submit relevant suggestions, it is recommended that you could give feedback in Outlook client(File>Feedback>Suggest a Feature). Hope Microsoft will pay attention to this issue in the future.

Thanks for your support and understanding!
