Creating Automatic Deployment Rules for Definitions Update for Windows Servers 2016 vs 2019ndows

I've setup an ADR rule for updating Virus definitions for both Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2019. I know that the Server 2016 uses Microsoft Defender and that Server 2019 uses Windows Security.

When creating the ADR rule, there was no specific Windows Security. There is a Product for "Microsoft Defender Antivirus". So, I used that product to update both servers 2016 and 2019. But, it seems that deployment for the device collection that contains only Server 2019's fail to get the updates. Should there be a specific product just for Defender part for the Server 2019 Windows Security?

I'm looking for creating ADR rule for virus definitions specifically targeting Windows Server 2019. Here's an example of creating an ADR rule for Microsoft Defender.126853-adr-rule-for-virus-definition-update-01.png

New ADR Rule
Product: Microsoft Defender
Superceded: No

I could not find a product dedicated for "Windows Security" that Windows Server 2019 uses. I'm guessing that Windows Security is still Microsoft Defender - just rebranded... ? Or, are they called something else within SCCM product name?

Hi,

I checked the products in my sccm environment, Windows Security is Microsoft Defender, we could just check the option of Microsoft Defender.

Best regards,
Amanda

Hi @Kody-2675

According to we selected, it seems there is no issue in ADR rule.

We could navigate to ADR --> properties --> preview to check if there is these updates are appropriate for server 2019.
