Hey microsoft azure,


Good Morning , i'm Desmond i was wondering for the current application that i am using am i able to migrate to azure.

Currently i am using NAV 2009 R2 if i want to upgrade to azure cloud what application should i have to assist my migration,

am i able to migrate with the current version.

@desmondlim-1008 Thank you for posting your question. Are you trying to migrate to an Azure SQL database?

Hey @OuryBa-MSFT actually we have a physical server that is currently manage by a third party and a platform(NAV) where we do our day to day process thus im unsure which one i should work on first to move it into a virtual server or place the platform into a virtual server first as we have branches across 3 south east asia countries.

Hi @desmondlim-1008 sorry for the delay in response to your questions. Are you trying to Migrate to Azure SQL database, Managed Instance or Azure SQL on Vms.
If the SQL server on NAV is a PaaS machine, using DMS might not work in certain scenarios because of PaaS architecture and ability to allow external connections.

For migrating the physical server which is a SQL Server you can use DMS and migrate to Azure.
