Windows Server 2022 activation (keys)

Hello,

I downloaded and installed windows server 2022 from azure from students, but it seems that the keys are linked to windows server 2019 and not 2022. Is anyone aware of this problem?

I'm also not able to activate the windows server 2022. Do you have to add a product key when you install an ISO from azure from students or is the key included in the installation?

the keys from Azure education didn't work for me for the datacenter edition

maybe I got the wrong edition retail/evaluation/volume by using rufus?

You can download / install the 180 day evaluation here (product key is embedded)

I don't quite understand why I would want to download the evaluation version when there is a version available on Azure for Students. My questions is referring to two problems with the Azure for Students version.

Does this get picked up by Microsoft? Or can we contact someone about this issue?

You can Open a case thru Azure with Microsoft. They have support for Azure for student subscriptions but it is not the first priority. I opened a case myself and it got assigned the severity rating "C" and I can expect the answer from support within 8 somethings? I assume working days. Hopefully not weeks.(The email confirmations did not specify units)

Update: Microsoft support just called me and wanted to verify with me that the keys are non functional. I showed them the proof of this problem, They are trying to resolve this now.

  • same issue and easily reproducible. I imagined Microsoft never loaded Windows 2022 into their KMS activation servers.
