SCOM 2012R2 - No Performance or Statistics Data in MS Windows Client MP Views

Hi all,

Just tried to look at some performance graphs of some windows 7 clients and all views are blank.
is there something broken or from memory does this need some sort of "Rule" to be Enabled to start capturing performance statistics?

Hi @SaiyadRahim-8697,

I think the most logical reason for that is that the performance collection rule, which gather the respective counter/metric is most probably targeted at the Windows Server class and not the "Windows 7 Computer" class, to which your clients belong.
So, just check the respective performance collection rules and create an override (Enable) the rules for the Windows 7 Computer Class or a more general class like "Windows Computer", which will cover both your Servers and Clients.

You neeed to also ensure that your MP has the latest version.

Here a couple of links, which could help you with the troubleshooting, still the first thing to check is the targeting of the rules.

Hi Stoyan,

Please help me out with the below:

"So, just check the respective performance collection rules and create an override (Enable) the rules for the Windows 7 Computer Class or a more general class like "Windows Computer", which will cover both your Servers and Clients."

So lets say I have to Enable /Correct proper targets for the below statistics:
127318-image.png

So I go to Rules> Logical Disk (for example) > choose Free Megabytes >> Override the Rule
- What do I choose here...."For all objects of another class...." ???

127426-image.png

Do I choose Windows Computer here:

127397-image.png

But when i proceed with this, i see that the Parameter is already Enabled = "True" and the Management Pack destination field is greyed out:

What did i miss?

make sure that you had imported windows 7 MP into your SCOM environment.

Any idea where i can find this?

Thanks

Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 Management Pack for Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8 and 8.1 Library: this MP came from physical file Microsoft.windows.client.Library.mpb

Hi Roger,

Found it and installed.

few things are still showing no Data.

Network Adapter State is showing "Not Monitored"

Non of the OS Performance Data are showing:

IS it because as Stoyan mentioned, i need to repoint my Target to something like "Windows Computer"?

or do I ENABLE the Windows 7 Performance Rules using Overrides as i see they are disabled by Default:

You need to enable the required performance collection rule.
