Error expand fixed vhdx

Hi All,

Anyone know was would be causing this error? I am trying to expand the drive but keep getting the error doesn't matter if the server is on or not also no checkpoints present. It's a fixed drive on Server 2012 R2.

    How much are you trying to increase the size of the .vhdx? Do you have sufficient room on the host disk?

    Hi,

    I want to increase the space by 100GB and yes there is plenty of space on the host, over 1TB.

    I was going to try powershell, the current size of the drive is 1024GB and wanted to bring it up to 1124GB would the below command work?

    Resize-VHD -Path \somepath.vhdx -SizeBytes 1124GB

    Hi Irish,
    Please check the event viewer in the path:

    Event viewer>Applications and Services Logs>Microsoft>Windows>Hyper V VMMS > Operational, check if there's error message about failing to increase the VHDX size.
    If yes, please provide the error message for analysis.
