One Day Duration Task Finishes on Day Two

I've created a blank project and a single task in the plan... no resources assigned, no predecessors, no nothing. The task has a one day duration but finishes on the day following the task start date.

I've tried adjusting the working time in the Options> Schedule... i've tried changing the scheduling type... I've tried associating the Standard Calendar with the task. Nothing I do will make my task finish on the same day it starts.... what am I missing?

As your issue is more realted to Project which is not supported on Q&A forum currently, to better help you, I would suggest you post a new thread on Tech Community.

Thanks for your understanding.

I personally suggest double-click Project icon, create a blank project from app, go to File > Options > General > Choose one date format includes the time.

Then create a task with 1 day Durationto to check the start and finish time. Please ensuer the work time is the same as the settings in Schedule.
