Linked account for Managed Play Store stopped working

I am trying to find out why my google admin account linked from MEM does not work anymore. This is a company account, and we only used it to link the managed play store to Microsoft intune for Android installations.
Suddenly, after almost two years this stopped working. Android enrollment fails, and i cannot sync between Play store and Intune anymore. If i try logging into google with the account it says the account does not exists (i also cannot create a new account using the same email, because then it says the account exists).

Since this google account has no paid products connected to it i cannot find out where to get in touch with google about the problem.

Has anyone experienced something similar, or know where i can contact google?

Never seen that before. The account may be locked out or something. You can try creating a new account using a different enterprise email id and re-configure your play store. Alternatively, you can open a ticket with MS and see if they can do something from the backend.

Yes there might be something going on on the google end, but where can you get help with something like this? Trying to reach support sends you in and endless q&a loop where they suggest unrelated content, or to the community - i doubt the google community can do anything about accounts with problems. (All the same i created a post)

The problem with creating a new managed play account is that it requires me to unenroll and re-enroll all android devices from Intune. - Not a road lightly taken for me ...

The re-configuration should only affect your future enrollments. I don’t think there we be any issues with managing existing devices. However, I have not experienced this issue myself so can’t be 100% certain. I still suggest to open a case with MS.

Im not sure that is correct, because if i press the button to unlink the defunct account it wants me to unenroll all devices?

@KjetilK-6512 Thanks for posting in our Q&A.

It seems a strange situation. Please check if the managed google play status show active in intune portal. If it shows active, as RahulJindal said, it is suggested to open an online support ticket to find if there is any method. Here is the support link:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/get-support

However, from your description, I know we couldn't login the account. From the point view of account, it is more related to Google. I have done a lot of research, it seems there is no direct support phone number. Maybe we can try to use the following method to contact google.
https://support.google.com/googleplay/gethelp

Thanks for understanding.

Thank you for the effort, but the google support link only directs me to the community or unrelated support articles.

In the intune portal, the account shows as "Set up" - but if i try to sync i get an error "Management service error"
I will try reaching out to MS, but i dont think they can do anything since it seems google related. Maybe they have a suggestion how to contact google.

Also strange that noone had has this problem before if its something that could happen for some specific reason.

I could really understand you. If you want to fix the account issue, it is google issue. Could you please try to post this issue in Google community? Maybe someone will share some information. Here is the community.
https://support.google.com/mail/community?hl=en

For this account issue, MS couldn't get any help.

Thanks for understanding.

I did that previously, but alas, the community cannot fix accounts that cannot be found :o
