Microsoft Outlook IMAP Issue - Your IMAP server wants to alert you to the Following:cannot delete folders with subfolders

Tried quite a few things here. Reset folders / got rid of any folders that say "for this computer only" etc. I noticed a posting on here that said:
Account Settings / Data Files / open the email that is having the issues.

The solution was to rename to myEmail.ost.old When I open that file I don't see a .ost I see RoamCache, .com.bak, .com text and .com Outlook data file.

However the file I opened says: C:\Users\My Name\AppData\Local\Micrsoft\Outlook\Myemail.com.ost This is the only place I see the .ost

Hi @BradBowling-4463 ,

Welcome to our forum!

Do you mean outlook locked after renaming? If not, please provide more information about it.

According to your description, I noticed that you seem to have some doubts when opening the data file and renaming the .ost file, right? If so, please refer to the following steps to rename the .ost file:
1.Please go to File>Account Settings>Account Settings…>Date Files tab>choose your data file and click Open File Location, then you will see the .ost file of your account, as shown in the figures below.

2.Please close the Outlook client.
3.Right-click the .ost file>rename.
4.Restart Outlook to check if Outlook can work normally.

As a supplement, if such an error is still reported after the above operations, considering the impact of some add ins, It is suggested that you try to start outlook in safe mode(win+R>type: outlook /safe) to check whether it works normally.

If this is still the issue in safe mode, it is suggested that you could try to create a new profile(Control panel>Mail>Show profiles>add) and add the account to check if there are some differences.

Hope the above help!
