Configuring Management point for Push Mode

Hi Everyone,

Hope this finds you well !!

Need someone's expertise with a situation where multiple state messages are deadlocked on a remote MP Outbox and mpfdm.log keeps on displaying the same state messages "Remote Site is in pull mode".

Currently, we are using robocopy to transfer all the pending state messages to the site server for them to get fed into the database. Now we are currently troubleshooting this issue as the bulk of the system isn't reporting their current status cause of this.

As per the message, it appears the remote MP is configured for pull mode and connections must be initiated from the site server-side to access the admin share to pull out the outboxes content of remote MP.

How we would set up our remote MP for the push mode so the connection could be bilateral
How to change the pulling/pushing internal for this process and how do we configure an MP on remote for being in pull mode only?

Hope someone's experience could help me figure this mystery out.

Regards,
Shashi Dubey

Was the current configuration working earlier? Any errors in mpfdm.log? Is the local admin account for the remote site good for site server initiating connections?

Hi Rahul,

Thanks a bunch for your time to reply!

Yes, current configuration was working earlier and there isn't any error in the MPMDF.log it just displays the message as i mentioned in my previous comments :

"FDM staging folder polling thread starting"

""Switching to pull files"

"remote site is in pull mode"

"passive site server is not found"

"current machine is not configured to keep the copy of remote files"

SDM staging folder polling thread terminating

Remote site is in pull mode.

That's all i could see in the MPMDF log on remote MP.

What about the site system installation account? Also, why do you have this configuration? You have enquired about switching from pull to push so if that is an option then just do that by disabling the setting that requires site server to initiate connections to site system.

HI Rahul,

We don't have any such configuration in specific but we witnessed a bulk of state messages getting trapped in the outboxed of one of our remote MP which aren't getting processed to the site database.

Upon checking all the log files MPMDF is the component that is responsible for dispatching the state messages from remote MP to site server where the blockage is and that is the only error we are getting in that log.

Is there a way or reason why we are only witnessing this? as I am stuck and do not know where to look?

Hope someone's experience can help me out with it.
