Issues with WDS in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager

I have attached one of the log files for my Instance of Endpoint Manager. WDS will not start and keeps erroring. I currently have it set to not use WDS because of the issues, but would like to be able to get WDS working for multicast support. Hi, anonymous user
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

We may try to uncheck "Enable PXE support for client" on DP properties and wait for the WDS uninstalled by checking distmgr.log, then re-enable "Enable PXE support for client" and it will reinstall WDS automatically.

Good afternoon, I’ve attempted to turn that and multicast off multiple times and after WDS is uninstalled, I also have tried deleting the share and the folder it creates. I then tried setting up PXE and Multicast again with no success.

According to the log, it seems the WDS service could not start, try to install the Configuration Manager client on the server hosting the PXE enabled remote DP to see if it helps, you may check the article for more details:

I’ve already attempted to install both versions of the suggested c++ version with no success. I’ve tried the suggested steps there along with the ones from https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/mem/configmgr/troubleshoot-pxe-boot-issues.

Hello anonymous user

Have you checked that .Net Framework 3.5.1 Feature is installed on the server? In my experience this was one of the causes, because is one of the prerequisites that most people do not install.

Best regards,

Yes, 3.5/3.5.1 is completely installed. The server passed the pre-requisite check without any issues. Here is a link to the event viewer administrative view for the server as well if that will help.

Thank you.
