Laptop running slow after installing windows 10

Hi, recently I had a problem with my Spotify that I downloaded from the Microsoft store. And when I told my friend, he advised that I went into file explorer and reveal my hidden folder. After that I think I had deleted the wrong file and my Microsoft store stopped working. After searching for a few days for a fix, I found that I had to reinstall windows from https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows10 under the "Download Tool Now" section. Then after I so , it had fixed my Microsoft Store issue but then I noticed that my laptop was running noticeably slower. At first I thought it was because my laptop was not up to date so I used the same link , (https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows10) , but under the "Update Now" section. But even after that, my laptop was still slow. I tried many things , such as updating it, downloading all the drivers from https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/7572?b=1&pn=NH.Q3MSG.001&sn=90904707134, and factory restoring the laptop but none worked. The laptop now takes 5 seconds to open a Google Chrome tab, runs 30-40fps on League of Legends(usually around 120fps) and around 15fps on Apex Legends with the lowest graphics(usually around 60-70fps). I have been trying to fix this problem for the past few days and this is my last resort and I can't even get it fix from Courts[where I bought the laptop] as my warranty is over. If anyone has any fixes , please help Thanks.

Hello,

Have you tried updating all of your drivers?
- For your graphics card try to update or download Geforce Experience here https://www.nvidia.com/fr-fr/geforce/geforce-experience/.
- And you can use this tool to detect your components and find updates https://www.touslesdrivers.com/index.php

If you are on a laptop try clicking on the battery logo and putting the computer in perfomance mode (even plugged in)

Have a nice day :)

Hi, thanks for trying to help but these don't seem to have any effect as I have already done it.

Hello MarcusTan-3785,

It seems very strange that just for couple of settings the computer is now so slow and with such latency even on the GPU processing. But since we don't know more details about your actions, we can assume that anything is possible.

My recommendation would be a repair of the system using DISM (will check integrity and presence of needed system file and rewrite) following the steps in:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/repair-a-windows-image

Then if the issue still persists do a Full reset of the Windows copy (this will do a clean install, without updating or skipping files):
Go to: Settings > Update and Security
Select: Recovery from the the left panel
Select Reset this PC
Then select the option Remove everything (** note that this will remove EVERY non system files, including 3rd party drivers and apps, user profiles and personal files)

if after this the issue still appears, I would look into something different than windows or software, and look into hardware (change BIOS to default settings, check the hard drive integrity if it is a HDD, reinstall drivers and applications for your chipset and GPU, etc...)

Best regards,
