Can't print images from Photo Apps, Snip & Sketch, Paint 3D via Virtual Printer

I'm using the Windows 10 PC from version 21H1 (OS build 19043.1202)
when I have opened any file images with type: jpg or png with Photo apps application, and printed to our virtual printer driver, then there is no any messages/logs or jobs exist in queue of printer.

in the same scenario, I try again with Snip & Sketch and i got the messages (please take a look at the attachment)
in the same scenario, I try again with Paint 3D and i got the messages (please take a look at the attachment)

Hi there,

Issues about a .jpg file not printing in Windows 10 apparently reappeared recently.

Option 1
It’s been reported that users were stuck with the printing problem until installing KB5001649.
You can try getting this update from the Update catalogue and install it .

Option 2
Press Windows Key + R to open Run.
Type control and press OK to open Control Panel.
Go to Programs > Programs and Features.
Select your Printer and click Uninstall.
Try installing it again and print the .jpeg files
You can also update the drivers to check the issue.

Hope this Answers all your queries , if not please do repost back .

hi @LimitlessTechnology-2700
First, thank for your feedback.

For Option 2: I tried many times, but it's does not work.

Regard to Option 1, can you give me the links or installer ?

Also, I read the release notes here
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/march-18-2021-kb5001649-os-builds-19041-870-and-19042-870-out-of-band-ebbe0617-3a63-467a-aaaa-2a4c68a6de33

That seem not related to printing issues

Anyway, I downloaded packages KB5001649 and install but i got the error messages like this.

Do you have any idea for this one?

Regards,

Hi @LuongVanDoFHMFCT-2172

All Windows applications run in the app container and the app container only allows OUT XPS based spool files.

The spooler should be taking the XPS file and rendering this to a language the driver for the printer can understand. I suspect when the print system attempts to perform this task some UI is presented and since the Print Spooler service runs as system, the UI heads to session zero and this blocks the progression of the print job.

Has the vendor created a Type 4 driver for the printer? I once again, suspect not, but if they do have one then the spooler service will not attempt to convert XPS to a PDL.
