is it possible that in MDS the attribute value is automatically stored with 6 digits?

Hi, I'm Robert. I live in the Netherlands where I work as a BI specialist at a healthcare institution.

My question is about Master Data Services 2017.

In our DWH we want to enrich source data with additional data using MDS. A key user can edit or add records in MDS using the business key as a reference to the source data.
The business key in the source always consists of 6 digits, including a number of leading zeros.
For example 000012 or 000365.
The intention is that we store the business key in the same way in MDS, in order to get a good match in our DWH, where the data comes together.

The question is:
If a user enters a business key in MDS, for example 12, is it possible that in MDS the value is automatically replaced by 000012?

Hi anonymous user-5011,

Did you try to add a business rule for attribute values? Please check if this MS document Automatically Generate Attribute Values Other Than Code (Master Data Services) could help you.
