Unable to change Distribution List Membership Type to Dynamic

I would like to change the Membership Type of an existing Distribution List to Dynamic, but the field is greyed out.

Does anyone know how I can solve this?

Hello @JamesHaworth-6987

You can't change the type of group after it's been created. To change the Group type, you must delete the group and create a new one.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/fundamentals/active-directory-groups-settings-azure-portal

It is not feasible to convert a Distribution Group to a Dynamic Distribution Group .

Hi @AndriyBilous.

Thanks for your reply. To clarify, I'm not looking to change the Group Type. I need to change the Membership Type.

The article you linked to suggests this should be possible...

Mail-enabled universal distribution groups (also called distribution groups) can be used only to distribute messages.

We have Azure AD Premium P1.

I should add that I am already using Dynamic groups successfully and have been able to change the Membership Type of other groups. Just not these ones!
