We are having an issue with the last few months cumulative updates installing (install initially but the reboot after fails around 98% and undoes changes). Narrowed things down to the Internet Explorer 11 feature being the culprit.....if we disable that feature we can install the CU's no problem. However once we do that we can no longer re-enable that feature again (applies the change, prompts for reboot and then at around the 56% mark at the post install reboot it undoes the changes saying can't apply the feature). IE11 worked fine before disabling it so i'm not sure if all these symptoms are a sign of the FOD feature being corrupt or what . Any other feature on demand i am able to add w/out an issue.
In the troubleshooting we've already tried the dism restorehealth, sfc /scannow and a full inplace upgrade /repair install w/out any luck so not sure what other options i have . curious if theres a way to fully remove and readd that feature from the ISO or something maybe? like repair JUST that feature. or if i have a machine thats not experiencing the issue replace the source files or something?
