Azure Virtual Desktop Guest Users

Hi There,

This was the situation on august 2021:

-There is no way to provide external users access to AVD at this time.
The users will have to be a part of the ADDS domain to have sign on rights. What could be done is if you used ADDS for internal and created a Azure AD DS domain for "external" users but there would still be Azure AD users with no support for B2B or guest users.

Has this changed?

@RiikkaHuttunen-1917

I checked with internal team on this now. No this hasn't changed.

As of today user identities need to exist locally in both AD (AD DS or AAD DS) and AAD.

Currently in preview is AADJ which removes the need for AD. But this does not yet have support for B2B/C on the immediate roadmap.

However, team has a backlog item which should follow the first 3 milestones for AADJ. There is no timeline that can be shared on this now.

Hope this helps.
