How to exclude a perticular .js file from on-premise SharePoint 2019 blob cache?

Hi,

We are using SharePoint 2019 for a public facing website. Blob Cache has been configured.
There is a particular .js file, although its there available on the website and we can browse the same with the correct URL, continuously gives 5538 error in Event viewer as well SharePoint ULS logs. We have already tried all the available solutions, but the issues remains.
We need guidance if we can exclude the particular file from blob cache. And since its a .js file any code to be added to web.config file.

Regards,
Ketan Sahasrabudhe

Hi,

I had experience error with event ID 5538 before and here what we did:

  1. Taking ownership of "ahadmin" registry key HKCR\SOFTWARE\Classes\AppID{9fa5c497-f46d-447f-8011-05d03d7d7ddc}

  2. Grant WSS_WPG group launch and execution permission to the "ahadmin" DCOM component in component services.

  3. Grant WSS_WPG group read access to IIS config folder %SYSTEM32%\inetsrv\config

  4. IISRESET

Let me know if it helps.

Hi @KetanSahasrabudhe-6312 ,
As far as I know, We can only fulsh the BLOB cache,And clear the contents of the BLOB cache for a web application. We are unable to specify a file to remove.
You can try following code to flush the BLOB cache in SharePoint Management Shell.

 $webApp = Get-SPWebApplication "<WebApplicationURL>"
 [Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.PublishingCache]::FlushBlobCache($webApp)
 Write-Host "Flushed the BLOB cache for:" $webApp

Please refer to the following link
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/administration/flush-the-blob-cache
