When Azure Synapse Analytics was announced,
one very interesting feature announced was the "Power BI performance accelerator for Azure Synapse Analytics".

Now, since these days we cannot find any update about that feature on Azure Updates and it is also not present in the Power BI release wave documentation.
So is there any update about that feature? Will it be present in the next release wave?

    Hello @Enrico Pirazzini ,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A platform.

Currently this feature is not yet available in Azure Synapse Analytics.

While waiting for this feature to be GA with PBI service, I believe you can get the similar behavior by directly running below command and a SQL statement in Azure Synapse SQL UI or SQL Mgmt studio. This will produce XML output, with recommended MTV, if that make sense to the engine based on your SQL statement.

    EXPLAIN WITH_RECOMMENDATIONS <SQL_statement>

We will share and elevate your feedback with the Azure Synapse Analytics product team.

Hope this will help. Please let us know if any further queries.
