How can I create the aad-extensions-app?

When creating a user flow for B2B correlation, I got the message.
"aad-extensions-app. Do not modify. Used by AAD for storing user data."

I tried troubleshooting, but the application was not found.

I was able to find "aad-extensions-app".
For that, I needed to use AzurePortal preview.
As a result, "aad-extensions-app" was not deleted.
It was just not displayed.
The issue was that I was getting the message "aad-extensions-app. Do not modify. Used by AAD for storing user data."

Glad that you were able to isolate the issue and thank you for sharing your findings @TakuyaTeraoka.

Usually you would see below error message from "user flows" option from "External Identities blade" when aad-extensions-app was missing in Azure AD directory, and hope this was not the case in your scenario. but app was not listed from App registration blade due to some reason. You were able to find app when you switch to AzurePortal preview.

Hello @TakuyaTeraoka,

Thanks for reaching out.

This application "aad-extensions-app" would be created automatically when you enable self-service sign-up features as shown below and If you accidentally deleted the aad-extensions-app, you have 30 days to recover it. You can restore the app using either the Azure AD PowerShell module or Deleted Application (Preview) blade.

Could you please confirm, since when you noticed this change? was this worked before or its new setup completely?

because, If "aad-extensions-app" deleted for more than 30 days, then unfortunately app registrations cannot be restored and we recommend to create new Azure AD Tenant.

Setup Self-Service

Hope this helps.

Hi @sikumars-msft

Thank you for the information.
I also checked the Azure Portal, but "aad-extensions-app" was not found.

Is it possible that "aad-extensions-app" will not be created even if self-service sign-up is enabled?

I got error message from "user flows" option from "External Identities blade".
However, it turns out that "aad-extensions-app" actually exists, so
There is a issue with the message display.
