Deep linking in newest Edge mobile on iOS

Hi,

I discovered that in the newest iOS version of Edge app it does not work with the deep linking. In my case it's adding a server to another app. It works that way that you paste a link which invoke the app and add server to it it's like: Myappname:\\settings_for_the_apps

I thought this was a problem with app protection policy from Intune but no, on plain edge it does not work as well.

Did anyone experienced that problem? Edge version - 93

Hi @Pawels-3977

For better understanding the issue, I want to confirm something with you:

  1. Do you mean custom URL scheme (deep linking) not working in Edge iOS?

  2. Does the deep linking work in other browsers like Chrome on iOS?

  3. Is it a specific URL scheme not working, or all the URL schemes are not working?

  4. If possible, please provide the steps which can reproduce the issue so that we can have a test.

Yes

Yes

I have only access to few and all of them does not work

If possible, please provide the steps which can reproduce the issue so that we can have a test.
I cannot provide the link as it's private for our company. we just paste the link to the Edge like we did before latest Edge update. It worked before, seems that newest Edge update broke it.

Hi @Pawels-3977

As I have no idea what URL scheme you're using, I made a test with Chrome URL scheme and it can work well in Edge. I load the following page in Edge, then I click the link in Edge, it can open Chrome:

 <!DOCTYPE html>
 <html>
 <head>
     <title></title>
 </head>
 <body>
     <a href="googlechrome://www.google.com">Open site in Chrome</a>
 </body>
 </html>

I use iOS 15 and Edge 93.0.961.57. You can also test the sample above to see if it can work in your Edge iOS.
