Hyper V external network switch not working

When I create an external network switch, the connection type for external network is:
Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 or Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (2) I219-LM

When either option is selected I loose my own wifi connection and unable to create a network switch. I have to restart my laptop to reconnect to the wifi.

How do I fix this issue or should I be using another network switch that will also work on the VM?

My laptop is running on Windows 10 Education (school purposes)
Virtualization Technology is enabled

Hello @KRGB-9373

I think the setting you are missing one option: "Allow management operating system to share this network adapter"

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/virtualization/hyper-v/get-started/create-a-virtual-switch-for-hyper-v-virtual-machines

Otherwise, in Windows 10 after the Creators Edition update you should use for this purpose the "vEthernet Default Swtich" in order to share connectivity. And also in the properties of your Wifi connection> Sharing tab select the "Allow other users to connect through this computer's Internet connection" then select your switch as "Home Networking Connection"

Hope this helps,
