To have your cert working on an Azure VM, there are 2 things you will need to do: Point the DNS to your Azure Server, and add the certificate to your server.

To add the certificate to your server, follow the steps for your operating system. The best place for this information is your operating system's documentation. If you need assistance with this, tell me the operating system you are using.

Once you have the certificate configured on the server, you will need to point your desired DNS name to the server. As a best practice within Azure, configure a FQDN for the public IP on the VM and then point your DNS to that FQDN as a CNAME. You can use an IP, but make sure to set your VM's public IP as Static.

If you have an intermediate networking service between your VM and the public entry point (Azure Application Gateway, Load Balancer, CDN, ect...) those services will have instructions for adding a certificate and SSL termination if desired.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
